A Pan-American social engagement project using postcards as a tool for dialogue, releasing 50 relief and letterpress printed cards as acts of resistance and circulation.
50 Against War/50 contra la guerra
Using printmaking as a tool of resistance, this project releases 50 hand-printed cards into the world, each accompanied by a directive in English or Spanish that shapes its movement and encounter. The cards circulate through public and private spaces—left, mailed, carried, and passed hand to hand—creating an anti-war network built on presence, participation, and shared accountability rather than visibility alone.
Rooted in the tradition of broadsides and activist print culture, 50 Against War extends my ongoing exploration of print as a vehicle for collective memory, civic dialogue, and transnational solidarity.
How It Moves
Each card includes a prompt:
Pass this forward.
Mail it to someone who needs it.
Leave it in a public place.
Document its journey (optional).
Respond and continue the chain.
This transforms the viewer into a participant.
The cards traveled to Miami, Lake Worth, Boca Raton, New York City, Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, San Francisco, Berkley, Chicago, Detroit, Washington DC, Atlanta, Kingston, São Paulo, San Juan, La Habana, Cuba and beyond.
