Centered on the phrase “AQUÍ ESTAMOS” (“We Are Here”), the works layer words such as Memory, Survival, Justice, Resistance, Esperanza, and Hope with hand-inked textures and vibrant color. The statement, “We are not cargo. We are not boxes pa’ ICE,” rejects dehumanizing immigration narratives and asserts humanity, belonging, and solidarity.
