Freedom pa’ Leer, Amar, Existir...USA 2025

$150.00

This limited-edition letterpress and pressure print stages the word FREEDOM as a towering, staggered column of oversized, hand-set letters printed in shifting greens that fade through softly rolled blends of peach, gold, and sky tones. The second half—DOM—drops vertically through a textured field that feels weathered, like a well-handled protest placard. At the base, a vivid red grounds the composition, carrying the small but declarative word TO.

Running down the right margin, a chorus of action verbs—READ, MOVE, GROW, RESIST, love, SPEAK, EXIST—appear in mixed fonts, scales, and inky hues (olive, deep blue, crimson, chartreuse), echoing the plurality of voices and rights at stake. Subtle roller marks, plate overlaps, and speckled pressure-print textures keep the surface alive, honoring the physical labor of printmaking and the imperfect, collective work of freedom itself.

Bold yet open-ended, the print invites viewers to complete the sentence with their own freedoms—and to defend those of others.

Freedom pa’ Leer, Amar, Existir...USA 2025, is part of the Forbidden Pages Collection—a printmaking project inspired by more than 2,500 books banned or challenged in Florida schools.
